Choose a specific job
CCleaner is a PC maintenance utility. Before installing it, decide what you need to accomplish: remove temporary files, review startup items or inspect a particular application’s stored data. A long list of detected items does not, by itself, measure how slow your computer is.
Review before removing
Read the categories selected for cleanup and consider what you will miss. Browser session data, saved application state and caches do different jobs. Work with a backup of important files and avoid changing several maintenance settings at once; that makes an unwanted result easier to understand.
